Revenue Interview: Lincoln Manning at Rfxcel

The Interview

Kluster's Take

Tom spoke with Lincoln Manning, Chief Revenue Officer at Rfxcel. He draws upon his experience as a sales leader, giving an inspiring take on achieving success.

Lincoln gives the sales team the tools they need to be successful. He measures their usage of them and then checks in. His approach to revenue leadership has developed as he’s learned and grown. He used to think he could get everything done himself, but has become a servant leader. Lincoln places an emphasis on hiring the right people.

He believes everybody should get a chance. Servant leaders should give people the power and the knowledge to be successful. He stresses that if you’re giving them that and it’s not working, then it’s not your fault.

A core value for Lincoln is brutal transparency. If you don’t say anything about something you don’t like then it’s your problem. This creates an environment of trust and partnership based on honest feedback. He explains that this should go both ways, it’s important for leaders to ask for feedback as well.  Whenever he joins a new organisation, he turns his attention to discovery.
