Tom spoke with Will Quigley, Regional Vice President, Sales East at Seismic. He shares what he’s learned on his incredible journey from Intern to RVP Sales. 

Will has been working at Seismic for 8 years and believes the only true constant is change. He moved into a leadership role quickly and has had rapid career growth since. He attributes this to seeking out mentors and asking for advice.  

Will explains that it’s important to create a culture where people know they can grow in their careers. You need to rely on others, help others get to where they need to be and have fun. "When you care more about the success of someone on your team, that’s when you know you’re becoming a coach"

He describes sales as 3D Chess, there are so many different ways to enterprise sales. There are also a variety of tools in your arsenal, such as Salesforce.

Will tells us that he’s grown to love data more than anyone. As an individual contributor, but even more as a manager. He explains that the data has completely changed sales. Buyers know what they want now, when he thinks about data, he thinks about a business case. He is interested in how we quantify the value, to help them reach their decision.

Will stresses that you’re far behind if you’re not using data. It’s key to figure out what tools are best for your business and use them every day.
